The year 2022 is the year of a new business venture and my very first blog. If I take a look back, 2020 was the year that changed it all. I had always had the idea in the back of my mind that I wanted something different, but wasn't exactly sure what. I had the typical stable job that I found boring and lacking. There was no fulfillment or anything like that. Just a paycheck and blah.
Then it happened. That 9-5 was gone. I was secretly on cloud nine. I took some time to regroup and think. I had always been that person who thought people were not born to work and die. There is so much to do and see. People tend to get caught up in the daily norms and miss so much. I'm not just talking trips or expensive things. I'm talking little things. When was the last time you just sat outside on a nice day and watched the birds or the clouds rolling by. What about that new craft you always wanted to try. What is typically seen is that stuff is all missed or set aside until we have "time". How much time do we have? Why can't we just take an hour a day and make some time for ourselves. To decompress, relax, and really see what the world has to offer. See the beauty in the world around you. So many people think it's selfish to do something for themselves but nothing is farther from the truth. If you don't take the time to take care of yourself, how can you take care of others? Mental breaks are so important and sadly are tossed aside. It takes a toll on your mental and physical health. That is where the idea came from for the Simple Joy Box.
